We should have seen this coming.  Fresh off the insane performance by American-forward TJ Oshie, who scored all four of Team USA‘s shootout goals to defeat Team Russia in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, someone created this awesome mash-up featuring the “bag-skate” scene in Miracle.

Wonder if Disco Dan was so defiant when telling Oshie to go again?  Either way, Oshie’s memorable performance has gained him (and his girlfriend) a lot of notoriety.

What do you think? Should the NHL adopt the shootout rule employed in the Olympics, where the same player can be used in extra-shootout rounds?  It might add some much-needed excitement to the shootout.  They could even call it the “Oshie Rule.”
